Sad Eyes

Those sad eyes
They draw me into a universe of pain
What tragedy have you witnessed, dear one?
What grief had you crying for nights on end?
I want to dive inside your mind
And fish the loneliness out of it

The sun reveals the track marks
Of tears that outline the shadows on your face
The hesitant smile
That stops at the corners of your mouth
Is like a movie
That never had a proper ending

A silent cry, a distant look
Staring at nothing
I wish I can see into those eyes
And read the words you can’t say
I wish I can listen to your heart
And solve the puzzle of every beat

I do not know
I can not know
The depth of your hurt
But I can sit here
Beside you
For as long as it takes
