Blue Moon

Once in a...

I look at you and wonder
When will you reveal your secret?
I ponder your beauty and think
If only I could pluck you off the sky
Put you in a small box
And carry you around in my pocket
Or wear you on a chain around my neck
So you can hear the questions I can't ask
And give me answers you can't say out loud
Then maybe I can have a part of you
That will never be someone else's
Maybe you would be less of a puzzle
And more of a solid certainty
You would be down here, full and whole
Instead of up there, a silver sliver of light
Barely there, almost gone
While I wait till you come back around
But I'll wait, blue moon
Always... till you come back around
